PHS Concert Band)

After marching season is over, the full band plays a final Christmas concert together, and then after the semester is over, we split into two bands. These are the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Wind Ensemble is generally for the older, more experienced musicians, and Symphonic for the younger. However, sometimes instrumentation and schedule difficulties cause those with seniority to be in Symphonic Band and vice versa.

At concerts, the two bands play separately, learning music for concerts and festivals. There are playing tests throughout the semester, and usually a chair test for placement within the section.

Group trips are taken every two years, with a trip to Washington DC every four, and a lesser one inbetween.
